run walk talk
PRACTITIONER training

Applications are now open for the first cohort of Run Walk Talk Level 1 Certified Practitioners. Please see below for full details of the course, including fees and schedule, and click here to apply (link opens in a new window).

Here are all the details:

  • What’s Run Walk Talk?: Run Walk Talk is a trademarked method of psychotherapy and coaching that combines mindful running and walking with talking to help people move their lives forward. Developed by Sepideh Saremi, LCSW, Run Walk Talk has been featured in the Los Angeles Times, Fast Company, Runner’s World, and many other outlets as an innovative way to get therapy.

  • What’s the Certification?: The Run Walk Talk Practitioner Certification will provide the foundation and tools you need to integrate running and walking into your practice, and to do it safely, ethically, and effectively. This course will be conducted by the founder of Run Walk Talk.

  • Who’s the Certification for?: This training and certification is for therapists in every stage of their journey (licensed, pre-licensed, and students), trained coaches who help clients with behavior/life/business success, and other dedicated wellness professionals who have an interest in combining movement with their healing/personal development/growth-oriented practice. You do not have to be an experienced athlete or a competitive runner to become a Run Walk Talk Practitioner.

  • How will the Certification help me?: You will be trained in the Run Walk Talk method and become familiar with its philosophy and the research that informs it. You will learn how to integrate running and walking into your practice, how to do it safely for yourself and your clients, and when it is and isn’t appropriate. You’ll learn how to think about running and walking in a deep, clinical way. You’ll learn how to talk about Run Walk Talk and your practice, and learn best practices in managing yourself and your practice as a Run Walk Talk Practitioner. You’ll also have the benefit of being part of the very first Run Walk Talk training cohort; as part of this cohort, you will have the opportunity to join the forthcoming online community and Run Walk Talk Certified Practitioner directory on runwalktalk.com, providing visibility for your practice as well as ongoing support from your peers and from Sepideh, the founder of Run Walk Talk.

  • What is the timeline?: Applications will be accepted through December 1, 2022. Spots are limited to provide a high degree of individual attention for each practitioner. The program starts on Monday, January 23, 2023. The course will be conducted weekly, on Mondays from 12pm-1:30pm Pacific Time, from January 23 through March 6 (no class on February 20). All sessions will be recorded. You will have assignments to complete between sessions, which are designed to help you engage with the material you are learning in the training and to help you start integrating Run Walk Talk concepts into your work right away.

  • What does it cost?: The fee for the course is $750. The fee is payable by January 3, 2023 to secure your place in the cohort. Payment plans are available, as are scholarship options and discounts for past individual trainees. There are no CEUs at this time and the course has been priced to reflect this.

  • What does the fee include?: The fee includes 1) six weekly, real-time, 90-minute remote class sessions conducted by video call and access to their recordings, 2) a certificate upon successful completion of the course (which includes course assignments as well as a brief exam), 3) the Run Walk Talk practice forms (including a liability waiver reviewed by an attorney), 4) one year of membership on runwalktalk.com, 5) one year of being listed on the Run Walk Talk Practitioner Directory, which includes being able to use the trademarked Run Walk Talk name in your own practice materials, and 6) access to three 60-minute peer consultation groups (group video calls in which you can talk about your Run Walk Talk sessions and ask questions) held periodically throughout 2023. (Please note that continued use of the Run Walk Talk name requires completing an annual refresher course and maintaining your runwalktalk.com membership and directory listing.)

  • Who do I contact with questions?: Please reach out to me, Sepideh, at sep@runwalktalk.com with your questions. You can also include them in your application.
